House and Babies

So I was informed today that my blog hasn’t been updated since January! I know I am horrible at blogging!! But for those of you that know me, know I’m not the most organized person and am not that great at stuff like this. I am much better at updating my Facebook! So here is my blog update! ;)

Life has been a whirl wind lately. This summer we decided to sell our 100 acre woods and build a house near my in-laws. They have 240 acres west of Fanshawe. So we started the process of picking out a house and floor plan. What a journey that has been!! But it is now complete and we are waiting for the concrete work to start. They were supposed to start several weeks ago, but the rain has kept them from it. Word is that Friday they are going to do the piering, hopefully next week the footings and then the slab. We are praying that God will keep the rain away, so we can get this going.

We have until the end of January living here. Then we are hoping the guy that bought our place will let us rent it from him until our house is done!

In the middle of all of those decisions we found out that we are expecting again! Yes! Number three! We will have 3 children under fouR! How exciting is life going to be at our house?! So we are just praying at this point that we can get the house done in time for this new arrival. I am due April 4th, but will probably do the c-section the end of March. At least doing c-sections we can make sure we aren’t in the middle of moving in when I go into labor… we can kind of plan things. I say that, but it seems like recently anytime I plan anything, God smiles at me and says…. “I am in control, not you” and my plans, of course, don’t work out. So I guess I won’t worry about planning and just put MY schedule aside and let Him work… ‘cause He normally doesn’t like what I plan anyways.

Okay, I’m going to attach a few pictures on here and then get the girls down for their naps. I will try to do better at updating… or at least try to update before our kids are all grown, but you might have to remind me! ;)

Starting a new year!!

Well, it's been a good and rough few weeks. The week before Christmas we said good-bye to Doug's grandpa. We all got to be with him when he went to be with Jesus, which was something very special. It has been hard, but we know that he is in a better place and much happier there!!

We went to my parent's house that weekend and celebrated Christmas with them. Granny and Gramps bought Caitlyn and Calyssa a "big kitchen" which they already delivered to us and some other awesome presents from them, Uncle Logan, and Uncle Chris, Aunt Lindsey, and cousins Connor and Ryan. I ended up sick (suprise, suprise) and by Saturday night I had completely lost my voice. Sunday morning, I woke up with still no voice and Caitlyn was running a fever. We left Weatherford shortly after lunch and headed home. Monday morning (still voiceless), Caitlyn and I went to the doctor -diagnosis: strep throat. Caitlyn never got too sick which we are so grateful for.

Christmas day we opened presents and then after naptime went out to Doug's parent's house and let the girls ride their new jeep. They had a great time. We opened presents with Granny, Pawpaw, Uncle Jeremie, and Aunt Andrea. They got some great gifts!

On Saturday and Sunday we went back over to Granny and Pawpaw's house and got to see all of our extended family and open gifts with them. Caitlyn loved playing with her cousin Caleb.

Today is New Years and we have had a great day. Doug's parent's brought over the 4-wheeler that was Doug's grandpa's. It was SO cold, but Caitlyn wanted to go for a ride, so I bundled her up and we rode around for a few minutes. I was freezing and she didn't even want to get off. But since "I'm the boss" we came inside!! Other than that we have just spent the day being lazy and playing with the girls. We hope you all have a wonderful New Year or "Merry New Day" in Caitlyn's words - too cute!!

Okay, so I have not posted in forever (thanks Sarah for you note!)! Caitlyn ended up with Pneumonia again and we had colds and tons of other fun stuff. Now we are getting into the Christmas season and SO busy with buying gifts and Christmas parties and plays. Tomorrow at church we have our choir Christmas cantata and I am really looking forward to it. Even though I don't have a very good voice, I LOVE to sing (it's from the heart, and that's what counts right?). Tuesday the girls go to "Miss Lisa's" house for a bit, she's our new babysitter. I get to leave the girls with her once a week for a few hours to get stuff done. In reality it won't be that often just because of holidays and stuff she has going on. But I'm excited for just a couple of hours of housecleaning time or just "me" time. This Tuesday I'll be baking cookies for our playdate. Then on Wednesday we have playdate and that night the kids at church have their "play." Caitlyn is going to be a piece of old-fashioned ribbon candy in a candy store. I was hoping she would get to be an animal, but maybe next year. Friday we will head to Weatherford for Christmas with my family. Unfortunately I won't get to see my sister, brother-in-law or my nephews this year. They have "quarantined" them since it's RSV season. As often as we are sick I would hate to expose them to my girls anyway!!
Our big news right now is that Cally is walking. She is doing pretty good. She gets braver and braver. For the next couple of months she will get lots of bumps and bruises, but they learn the best if you just let them figure it out.
Well, that's all I know for now. Here are some new pictures of us. I will TRY to update this more, hopefully after the holidays I will do better.

These two pictures were taken in Enid on Thanksgiving. Caitlyn got to ride the train at the mall. That night it snowed so Caitlyn got to build her first snowman the next day.

Okay, so I was having problems uploading onto here, so I just made a slide show of our last week or so. Here's the story...

We went to Norman last Friday and got to see my nephews... Ryan and Connor. They are such dolls. We had our first picture taken with us, my sister and her boys, and my brother.

Then we went on to Weatherford. On Saturday we took the girls to the Corn Maize in Hydro to take pictures. Calyssa did NOT like the pumpkins, hence no pictures of her with them!! She went nuts if you tried to sit her in them. She's having major seperation anxiety issues!!! My had gotten a car for the girls. We were thinking more for Cally, but Caitlyn LOVED it. Doug would push her down the driveway in it and she would smile SO big!!

So we get home Sunday night and everything is fine Monday morning. Caitlyn laid down for a nap and when she woke up... she was burning up. She ran a fever the rest of the day and a low one Tuesday and today. I decided to take her to the doctor after a glimpse of her throat... it looked like strep. Well, at the dr's office she started listening to her chest and it sounded like there was a rattle. Off to get an x-ray, which revealed~~~~ PNEUMONIA!!! She has it in one lung and starting the in the other. Poor girl. Pneumonia and strep, all at once! She is now on an antibiotic and has to do breathing treatments 3 times a day.

Pray for us... that we survive and none of us get sick! Although Doug and I are already questioning if we are coming down with something. I don't mind getting it, I just don't want poor Calyssa to get it. Keep us in your prayers...

First off I just had to show these two pictures of Cally. She loves this ball cause it has a little thing inside of it that makes noise. She finally managed to get the whole thing in her mouth, so it got taken away. Before I took it from her she crawled over to me, with it in her mouth. So I HAD to take a couple of pictures.Today I took the girls to the Sorghum Festival and they had a GREAT time. We managed to steal Granny away from her work (she volunteers at the festival) and had a little picnic and then went to look at the animals.

Caitlyn loved holding this little dog. She did great with it. I had a hard time helping her and taking pictures, but after I put the camera down she held it by herself.

Next she got to hold a kitty. As much as she loves kitties, it was right up her alley! She was very gentle with it!

Lastly she got to hold a bubpy (aka bunny), she got to hold it on her lap all by herself! Such a big~little girl I have!

I think we have an animal lover on our hands. I guess we'll have to start trying to talk Doug into letting us get some kitties and puppies... and maybe even some bunnies someday. We'll just have to keep reminding him that that's a bonus of living in the country ~getting to have lots of pets!! (I doubt he'll go for it, but he does have a soft spot for his two little girls!)

VACATION!!

I have tons of pictures to post, so bear with me!
We had a great time on our vacation. Friday was probably the best day. We woke up to a beautiful view out our back door.

We loved the place we stayed. It was SO nice and pretty. Caitlyn especially enjoyed the bathtub and the swimming pool.

(we weren't letting Caitlyn drown... she LOVED going off the steps by herself and almost going under!)

On Friday we went to the "Landing," which is a new "outlet" in the old downtown part. We did some shopping and rode the duck. Caitlyn got an orange kitty at Build-A-Bear Workshop and name her yo-yo (we think she was saying it was a yellow kitty and it's name stuck). We tried to get her to drive the "boat," when we were on the "duck," but she got kind of scared.

On Saturday we just went to more shops and were lazy. On Sunday we went to Springfield to meet one of my friends and I didn't take any pictures *kicking myself*.

We were glad to get home, but had a great time! Okay, I need to help Doug with the girls and then I have more pictures from today to post.

I know it's been a few days since I've written. Caitlyn ended up with some weird virus on Friday. She spent most of the day throwing up. Poor thing. Friday night my grandparents came to visit for the weekend. Saturday Caitlyn didn't get sick anymore, but still was not herself. We had a good time with my grandparents here. Doug and Grandpa fixed the floor of the storage shed in the morning and then after lunch went and played golf. I won't say who won, just that Doug lost a LOT of golf balls (hint hint). Grandma and I just took care of the girls and played. Caitlyn even got to go outside and play in the rocks and on the swing set with Grandma. Sunday we went to church and when we got home Caitlyn threw up again. I don't know if she just got hungry, hot and carsick or if she still had a little of that bug left in here. After my grandparents left we took naps!! Monday Caitlyn was definatly better. She's back to her old self. Calyssa is doing great. She is a FAST mover. It just amazes us how fast she can get from one place to the other. She officially has 4 teeth and is starting on 2 more... with probably 2 more after that. We started making her "cry-it-out" at night. It was a long night Sunday night, but last night she did GREAT! Hopefully going on vacation won't mess her up too much.

Tomorrow I start my "Mom & Me Playdate" "ministry". I am really looking forward to it. Then on Thursday we are leaving for Branson!!! YEAH! I am so ready to go, but I have TONS to do before we can go!!

Well, I'm including some pictures that I took today. We ordered Caitlyn some hair bows so I put them in this morning, so that I could show them off!

The Circus

We went to the circus on Tuesday and had a pretty good time. Caitlyn is still kind of young to sit still that long. She did pretty good though.

After the circus we had a baby shower to go to... Virgie, who takes care of the girls in the nursery at church, took care of her for me.

I bought Caitlyn and Calyssa a Dora and a Boots. Caitlyn LOVES them!!

We had a pretty good weekend. Doug worked outside for most of it and got quite a bit done. The girls were good. Saturday evening I took them for a walk in the wagon.

Sunday after church we went to eat pizza with Granny, Aunt Annie and Uncle Jeremie. We had a great time.

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I've been trying not to be on the computer too much. We had a pretty good week. Today we ended up going down to my friend Sarah Silk's bed and breakfast to see her. We had a great time! It's a little over an hour south of us. Caitlyn finished her antibiotic and ended up with a HORRIBLE diaper rash/yeast infection. It has NOT been fun changing her diaper the last few days. It was starting to look better tonight. I'm so relieved. It was terrible having to hold her down to change her diaper. She is so cute. She loves watching Dora and is getting to where she "participates" in it by answering questions, singing along, and repeating what they say. It's so funny!

Calyssa is continuing to impress me with her ability to get around. She can pull up on anything now and she doesn't even seem to be thinking about doing it. She would much rather be standing up than sitting down or crawling. Today she pulled up at the coffee table and pulled a bowl of Caitlyn's cereal (no milk in it!) onto the floor. As fast as I would get her moved out of the way to pick it up, she would be back in it. She moves FAST... and can get stuff into her mouth just as quick! She's got 3 teeth that are "in," 1 that is almost "in," and I'm thinking that a couple more will be coming soon. It seems like she is getting them all in at once!

Doug is glad it's the weekend. I think he's looking forward to working outside. He has lots that needs to be done, although I don't like it when he's outside all day. But I know it has to be done. He doesn't get to get outside near as much as he would like to. He is just such a great dad and husband, helping me out around the house all the time!

I will probably just spend the weekend working on getting the house into order and taking care of the girls. Now, how is that different from Monday through Friday?? Oh well, that just comes with the job of being a mom to 2 such wonderful little girls and a great husband! Okay, so that I don't get too mushy, I'll be done. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Well, we are finally better. Calyssa is working on getting tooth number 4 in, but other than that she has recovered. Caitlyn seems to be doing pretty good. She's been kind of cranky/moody the last couple of days. I don't know if she still feels bad or if she's just testing me to see what she can get away with. And boy is she testing me!! Ah, the joys of motherhood. :)
We are planning our first family vacation (Las Vegas doesn't count since Calyssa wasn't actually there and it was a "work" trip). We are going to Branson on October 4th - 7th. We FINALLY decided to stay at Westgate Emerald Pointe (http://www.wgemeraldpointe.com). It's about a 20 minute drive from it to "the strip" but it actually has a bedroom so that we can keep Caitlyn in a different room. She won't sleep as good if she knows we are right there. And if Caitlyn doesn't sleep it could make for some long, hard days. They have us in a "lakeside" room, whatever that means. It does sound nice though. We are still hoping Doug's parent's will end up getting to go, but they probably won't know until closer to the trip. I am also REALLY excited because we are going to drive up north of Springfield on Sunday, before we head home (opposite direction, I know) and I get to meet a girl that I have "known" online since I was pregnant with Caitlyn. They just built a new house and I am looking forward to getting some ideas, for when we get to build a house (still a couple years away, but closer). She has a little boy, Caitlyn's age, that I am excited for Caitlyn to get to meet. Although I think he is all boy, so I'm going to have to let Caitlyn wear her play clothes so they can play in the dirt ;)
Well, I need to run for now. I am getting ready to head to Poteau to meet with Juleah (the lady I am starting the mom's group with) and we are going to get some flyers put around to different places.

Recovering and Growing up

Calyssa seems so much better today. Her nose is still running some and she's a tad crankier than normal, but I do think she is just about healed!! Caitlyn's nose is still running up a storm and she has still been running a fever off and on, but I think she too is acting like she is feeling a little better.

Okay, so I put Caitlyn's hair in a "cat-tail" (aka ponytail) the other night and she thought it was neat, but wouldn't leave it in. It sure made her look like a grown up little thing.

Today we got Caitlyn's halloween costume in... she's going to be Dora. I had her try it on and she looks SO cute in it. She loved the wig!!! Here's a sneak peek.

Pulling Up!!!!

Calyssa is officially pulling up!! I would say when you can stand up at the back door, where there isn't much to grab, that you can stand up anywhere! She's been trying for days to get good at it, but I think she just about has it mastered!! She just has to follow big sister! I love it!! As far as colds go, Calyssa had a rough night trying to breath, Caitlyn did pretty good, but has a fever. Doug is about the same as yesterday and I'm just hanging in here, fighting this cold. I have a HORRIBLE headache and I can feel it coming, but I'm trying to fight it off.
Well, that's all I have for now. Brenda is coming over soon to play with the girls (Praise the Lord for a little help wiping noses!!!), and I might try to catch some zzzz's since my nights have been VERY short here lately! Keep us in your prayers!

5 days of dealing with colds and some of us have just begun

Calyssa slept so much better last night. She was in bed with me for only a short part, but I did have to let her fuss in her crib a few times. I think that her nose sounded clearer and she was in a little bit better mood yesterday, so I am hoping that she will be even better today.
Caitlyn on the other hand is still in the early stages of her cold and has develop pink-eye to top it all off. I think we have some medicine from a while back, but more than likely it won't do any good, because I figure it is just viral and will have to run its course. Poor thing, she sounds so congested.
My congestion has slowly started increasing. I am praying that it is just allergies> but what are the chances?? Especially since I just talked to Doug and he is experiencing the same symptoms. Well, I'm just glad that we've gotten Calyssa over the worst of her cold before the rest of us have gotten sick. Please be praying for us.

Colds and Owies

I've had a rough couple of nights with Calyssa, poor thing. She can't breathe when she lies down or when she tries to eat. I feel so sorry for her, but I guess it's just going to have to run it's course. Her nose is SO red and raw looking. She hasn't slept good the last couple of days/nights. She is actually playing pretty good right now, so maybe she actually feels better, even though she doesn't look or sound better.

Last night at church Caitlyn tripped and busted her lip. It doesn't look too back, but it definatly bled. Then she woke up this morning (after not sleeping too good last night) on the wrong side of the bed, with wet pjs and a wet bed and her nose is starting to run. So I guess she is coming down with Cally's cold. But really, I expected it. Cally crawls around the living room, putting every toy in sight, into her mouth and then Caitlyn follows behind her and plays with them. I guess in a few days I'm going to have to get out my chlorox spray and clean all the toys.

Well, I need to get back to doing laundry, so Caitlyn will have a sheet on her bed at nap time.

I'm just praying that I get the girls better and on the road to recovery, before I end up sick ('cause I know it's coming).

Rodeo

WOW, two posts in one day!! I actually just want to post some pictures from tonight. We took the girls to the rodeo in Poteau and Caitlyn really enjoyed it. Calyssa is getting a cold (on top of the teeth she is getting), so she didn't have too much fun. It sprinkled off and on and then when it finally came time for the bull riding, it started raining and the girls started getting fussy. So we left. Here are some pictures.

Hey all. So I thought I would try one more time to do a site for our family. I want people that don't live near us to be able to keep up with what's going on in our lives (especially the girls). So here it goes.

Caitlyn, who is 2, is continuing to talk up a storm. It's funny how she will just say something that we've never heard her say and Doug and I just look at each other like "where did she come up with that?" Ex. Last night she was playing with her little people and I heard her say "Hey guys." I about died. Caitlyn is so good at using her imagination and pretending. She is very good at "playing" with her sister, including taking toys away that Calyssa's not supposed to have. She is also really into Dora right now. Gramps (My dad) bought her 2 new dvds and she is LOVING THEM!!! (thanks dad)

Calyssa is 7 months old now and is crawling everywhere and trying to pull up. She is getting THREE teeth in right now and I think there is another one that will be coming through about the time she gets these in. She says dada and will say mama when she is crying. Cally is definatly a momma's girl right now; if she sees me, she wants me.

Doug is at work right now. He usually doesn't have to work Saturdays, but had to work last weekend too. Other than that he is helping me take care of the girls or trying to get stuff done outside. He and his dad have our place looking really nice. It's neat to look out the back door and see our cows and calves running around playing.

I just stay busy keeping everyone in line. It seems like I am always battling laundry and toys, but that's okay, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am working with another lady to start a mom and kids playdate at her church. We will meet twice a month to let the kids play and the mom's can talk and enjoy adult conversation (opposed to 2 yr. old conversations) and then we will have some more "scheduled" activities so the kids to get too rambunctious. We are hoping it will grow into a great outreach ministry for the area. There are so many moms that need Godly encouragement and conversation.

Well, that's the update and hopefully I can post often... maybe not daily, but a couple of times a week.
